The Mill Ave Chamber Players celebrates its ninth season with the theme of time travel. From a world premiere to the music of sixteenth century Venice, we hope that you will join us for our adventures in the 2016-2017 season!
August 14: CD Release Concert – Celebrate the release of our second CD with Quintet, “Three Pieces” for Woodwind Dectet and Quartet by John Steinmetz.
October 2: Mozart’s Vienna – Composed for the Emperor’s newly formed Harmonie Ensemble, Mozart’s C minor Serenade shows how much Mozart was influenced by other Viennese composers. Caprice by Paganini and Fidelio Overture by Beethoven for Harmonie Ensemble complete the program.
November 6: The Venetian School with Helios – MACP joins with vocal ensemble, Helios, to perform works of Renaissance composers, including Gabrieli, Monteverdi and Vivaldi.
February 5: Coming to America – We celebrate music of immigrants to America after World War II by composers including Stravinsky, Hindemith, Adler and Rachmaninoff.
April 2: Modern Classics – MACP will close its ninth season with a world premiere by Robert Springer and two modern masterworks for woodwind quintet by Joan Tower and David Maslanka.
