A Year of Living Graciously

A Year of Living Graciously

What is your passion?  What gets you most excited and fired up?  Who do you care most about and why?  How have you shared that passion in the past? How can you share that passion now with Central’s faith community?

As we move into what is traditionally called stewardship, it is a time for all us to examine how we can share our gift of passion in a purposeful, intentional and grateful way.  Each and every one of us has a gift to share with this community, because each and every one of us is a gorgeous child of God.  Too often we feel as if we do not have anything to offer the community.  We may say I am too old or I am too young or I am not smart enough.

Marianne Williamson puts it this way:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

In the coming weeks, we will ask ourselves how we can become more attentive, engaged and empowered in serving God’s people.  How can we best live authentically; exploring, discovering, uncovering and celebrating our lives together as a strong faith community? As we continue to live graciously, may we gain clear attention and focus on what is truly important and valuable in our lives; a deeper relationship with one another and a desire to extend that love beyond our self-constructed boundaries.
