The Music Ministry of Central United Methodist Church
Is pleased to announce the naming of the
Sonoran Brass Quintet as "Artists in Residence."

The ensemble will play in the 11:00 am Worship Service once each month, offering solo literature, accompaniments for choral works, works for organ and brass, as well as hymn accompaniments at the normal places for music within the worship service. Funding for their residency is given by "A Friend of Central Church, in honor of its Sanctuary Choir, Minister of Music and Organist."
The Sonoran Brass Quintet is comprised of musicians who met through their associations with Arizona State University. They have performed with and held positions in major orchestras throughout the United States and internationally, including the Detroit Symphony, New MMexico Symphony, Swedish Radio Symphony and Monterrey Symphony in Mexico.
The group's musicians pride themselves on versatility. They are all active musicians across the state, performing frequently with every major musical ensemble in Arizona, including the Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff Symphonies and the Arizona Opera. Members are also in high demand in the theater, sought out to perform with nationally touring Broadway productions from The Producers to The Lion King and dozens of others, and in concert appearances with popular music icons from Barry Manilow to Mannheim Steamroller to Clay Aiken.
They are equally in demand as members of music festivals across both the United States and Europe, performing with the Des Moines Metro Opera, Lancaster Festival, Tanglewood, Colorado Music Festival, Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival (Alaska) and AIMS Festival Orchestra (Graz, Austria).
The five musicians of the Sonoran Brass have also been guest artists at hosts of international brass conferences. The members are also active supporters of education, having held college teaching positions from Arizona to Maine as well as maintaining private studios of young and aspiring musicians, in the hope of spreading and fostering a love for music. Welcome to these fine musicians.
