Weddings at Central United Methodist Church
General Policies and Information

Central United Methodist Church considers it an honor to share in a wedding experience. We consider a wedding to be a worship service, a celebration before God of two lives joined into one. Central asks all couples marrying here to seriously consider the central role of God in the marriage relationship and to understand their wedding as a sacred worship event involving all of the people attending, and premarital counseling is required of all couples that marry here.

A wedding is a sacred rite in our church. Members of Central United Methodist Church and non-members as well, are welcomed to be married here. This information is prepared in the hope that it will help you in the planning for one of the most significant events of your life.

SCHEDULING AND PLANNING

The weddings and rehearsals are to be scheduled through CUMC's Wedding Coordinator. The Wedding Coordinator will meet with the bride prior to the wedding to provide any assistance or guidance necessary. She will be present at the rehearsal and the day of the ceremony to ensure that all details go smoothly. This eliminates any need for a commercial wedding consultant.
