THE TE DEUM WINDOW

One of the most beautiful windows in the Southwest is Central United Methodist Church's Te Deum Window. This great East Rose Window measures over 11 feet in diameter and is composed of a pleasing series of concentric circles. The stone work was done locally and is of unusually high quality. The Judson Studios of Los Angeles did the Art Glass. Judsons are fourth generation glass workers and after studying the church and its possibilities, recommended this treatment.
Blue, ruby and some gold dominate the window. The general effect is one of rich quietness and the blue symbolizes Faith. Within the window are eight medallions and within each a figure playing one of the musical instruments represented in the 150th Psalm. It is from these that the name "Te Deum", or "Praise be to God" comes. People have given praise to God by use of the Lute, the Harp, the Flute, the Cymbals, the Pipes, the Triangle, the Tambourine, and the Trumpet. As the light changes on the window from time to time, it creates different but always pleasing effects.

THE PORTER WOMACK MEMORIAL WINDOW

The Porter W. Womack Window, placed in the Narthex, is the loving gift of Leta Womack and Family. It honors the memory of a man long a generous and active force in the growth and development of Central Church.
The window depicts the two Sacraments sanctioned by Christ. Baptism and the Lord?s Supper. One panel shows the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist. The other panel pictures Jesus offering the chalice of Holy Communion.
The window was designated and executed by Judson Studios of California.
