Singular Purpose Sundays 9:10 a.m. in Room 103 Facilitated by Paul W. Estes
The Singular Purpose class meets on Sundays at 9:10 a.m. in Room 103. Formerly known as "Central Singles" it is more than a singles "group". Each of us is on our own spiritual journey to find a deep personal relationship. All relationships begin with our relationship to and with our Creator. Singular Purpose acknowledges that we all have a singular purpose in life to understand and accept God's revelation of Himself. Since we are created in the image of God, our "singular purpose" is that we might know God, know His purpose for our lives, and thereby come to know ourselves and the meaning of life. Singular Purpose is dedicated to helping seekers find themselves in the image of God and to establish a relationship with God through His Son , Jesus Christ, which forms the basis for all other relationships in our lives.
NOTE: Singles activities, such as retreats, cultural events and social gatherings are held in conjunction with other Valley UMC singles groups of the Singles United Methodist (SUM) under the auspices of the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church. Information about SUM activities and events may be obtained by calling 602 257-1207.

The Gathering is one in spirit with Singular Purpose. While Singular Purpose focuses on our individual relationship with our Lord and God, the focus of The Gathering is our relationship with our fellow man and with other believers. The church is the body of Christ gathered together to worship our Father and to encourage and support one another. As we continue to grow in our faith, through The Gathering we discover what it means to walk and talk daily with our God individually and collectively as one body, the body of Christ. Participants are encouraged to share personal faith experiences and to join in the discussion of encountering and exploring the nature of our faith. Our continuing studies in Singular Purpose and The Gathering are based on "Seasons of the Spirit" derived from the Common Lectionary.
The meaning of life is: to know God. The goal of life is: to become like Christ. The purpose of life is: to glorify God.
Both Sunday morning studies are open to anyone who sincerely desires to understand the scriptures and to seek God's meaning and purpose for their life.
