Central Church has a Parish Nurse! Parish Nurses, also called Faith Community Nurses, are actively licensed RN’s with special training. It is a recognized specialty, with Scope and Standards of Practice.
- The mission of parish nursing is the intentional integration of the practice of faith with the practiced of nursing so that people can achieve wholeness in, with, and through their community of faith.
- Gail’s ministry strives to build on and strengthen capabilities of individuals, families, our congregation, and the community to care for one another in light of their relationship with God.
- About a quarter of the Gospel stories are related to healing; Jesus sent the disciples out to preach, teach, and heal!
- Healing is not necessarily a cure, but the restoration of one’s health to his or her optimal state of well-being. Gail will strive to help you find God in all of it.
- Gail is here to walk with you through the difficult times of life - when you’ve been diagnosed with a serious illness, and have decisions to make, when communication with your doctor is a challenge, when you are faced with difficult decisions, or just need information about a specific health related problem.
- Our Wellness Cabinet, comprised of other health professionals also called to ministry, plans programs and supports parishioners in a variety of ways.
- Health related articles are published monthly in the church newsletter.
